The Wesley College Debaters' Syndicate was officially inaugurated as a student body of Wesley College on the 6th of March, 2009. Even though Wesley has had a great past in debating, yet there was no official student body that managed affairs related to debating. But with the initiative of Mr. M. Naeem, the staff advisor the Wesley College Debaters' Syndicate was inaugurated. With the presence of many eager students, the inaugural meeting was a great success. The office bearers are as follows:
President: Maleen Jayasuriya
Vice President: Shazad Synon
Secretary: Sithira Gunasekara
Treasurer: Jeremy De Zilwa
Editor: Chrisjit S Xavier
Asst. Secretary: Thanuja Meegahawatte
The Debaters' Syndicate plans to do its utmost to improve the standard of debating in Wesley College and to build up a bright future for debating in Wesley College.
